Aldeanueva de Cameros

The fossil tracks at the El Encinar site can be viewed in the La Aldea arroyo, one kilometer from Aldeanueva de Cameros  Their general state of preservation is somewhat poor, although some tracks are in very good condition. Two kinds of tracks can be viewed there. The first ones have three fingers ending in claws, and appear to have been made by theropods as they were moving. The second set, produced by a quadruped dinosaur, formed a trail and are organized in pairs  that show the footprints (large and oval-shaped) behind the tracks made by the hands.
